| I would like to welcome you
to the South Florida Provider Coalition website. Since 1996, we have
been helping children, youths, adults and families with substance
abuse and mental health problems find the help they need. In short,
we are a nonprofit, managing entity that provides comprehensive
planning and coordination for the prevention and treatment of
behavioral health disorders at the community level.
Since SFPC founding, we have been the voice for the South Florida community and service providers on behavioral health issues. It is our goal to match the needs of consumers and their families with those of our service providers. We strive to be the community’s “Best Practice Guide” and are continually setting the standard of care to improve both the quality and effectiveness of services delivered to those who need it. We do this by identifying service gaps and filling those gaps in order to promote more cost effective, efficient services to clients with the dollars we have available, ultimately meeting the needs of the community and consumers. In accomplishing this goal, we recognize that the health and well-being of any individual and community is affected by (1) the continuum of treatment services developed for the community and (2) the continuum having the ability to meet the individualized needs of each client. In behavioral health specifically, there is a need for multiple and diverse services. Hence, we want to collaborate with and welcome outside professional health service agencies, practitioners, academic researchers, individuals and institutions with a similar focus on the substance abuse and mental health treatment field and encourage their involvement with our organization. We believe that inputs from our members, along with the input of our community, are the foundation for the success and growth of our Coalition. For that reason, we are committed to nurturing a strong connection between our organization, our members, and other interested parties, in order to assure the long-term success of behavioral health services in our community. Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the South Florida Provider Coalition Website. Sincerely yours, John W. Dow |
